Approve the 1-year contract extension between CFG Medical and Cumberland County for jail medical services.

Background and Purpose of Request
This past February, upon a few days’ notice from the County’s former medical provided Armor Medical, county staff work quickly to secure another medical provider to provide turn-key medical services at the jail.
In working with the County’s medical advisor, County staff presented a contract from CFG Medical as the new medical provider at the Jail. The transition went very smooth and CFG Medical has provided excellent service to the County Jail since they arrived in February.
The contract with CFG, bridged the contract to June 30, 2026, which was the original ending of the Armor contract. The new CFG contract provides two, one-year renewals in the contract. County staff are bringing this contract forward for the Commissioners to approve a one-year extension for the CFG Medical contract (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027).
County staff will return in September with final staffing and budgetary numbers for the contract as CFG has presented changes in employee classifications. For now, both parties will be working in good faith to secure next year’s contract and will provide an addendum when appropriate.
