Background and Purpose of Request:
Requestor: Liz Blackwell-Moore, Cumberland County Public Health
The Town of Standish is set to receive an annual payment of about $2,250 over a twenty (20) year period as a part of the Opioid Settlement. Standish does not have a public health department and does not currently provide services related to the opioid epidemic. The Town would like the Cumberland County Public Health Department to accept their allocation of settlement funds and add it to the County’s funds to amplify the impact of the funding and help the Town spend the funds for the best use.
The Public Health Department has a Commissioner approved process for allocating the County’s share of Opioid Settlement Funds. The settlement funds from the Town of Standish will be folded into the process. No additional funding is required by the County to complete the obligations listed in the Memorandum of Agreement (attached.)
Funding Amount and Source:
Approximately $2,250 annually for a total of $45,078.17 over twenty (20) years from the Town of Standish through the Opioid Settlement Agreement.
Effective Date if Applicable: 10/10/23
