Background and Purpose of Request
The Cumberland County Board of Assessment Review (BAR) is composed of volunteers who meet when the County receives an appeal for a municipal property tax abatement. The criteria for a BAR member includes knowledge of real estate (broker or appraiser or similar work) or practice as an attorney. There are no term limits according to the BAR By-Laws. Board Member Peter Coyne is currently on of the BAR’s longest serving member and a Real Estate Agent with Coyne Webber Real Estate Associates. His current term is from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026 and is set to expire. His new term would begin July 1, 2026 and end June 30, 2029.
