Authorization for the County Manager to award bid for Architecture and Engineering Services and enter into a contract between Cumberland County and Thornton Tomasetti for the Jail roof and courthouse window replacement for an estimated amount of $5 million.

body

Background and Purpose of Request:

Requestor: Bill Trufant, Director of Facilities

The County started to plan for future bonding items that will require additional professional services.  These items include the County Jail roof and a portion of windows on the 1993 side of the County Courthouse.  It is the intent to work in conjunction with an A/E firm to design, coordinate, and provide a full scale project oversight of these projects.

Funding Amount and Source:

The projected fees will be funded by the 2025/2026 General Obligation Bond.

The percentage range for their services will be between 7.4%-7.7%.  As shown in their proposal on page 14, they showed an estimated percentage of 7.5% ($375,000) for a projected project cost of $5,000,000. They also show how if the project total increases or decreases their fee structure changes along with their costs.
