Commissioner Gorden represents the Board of Commissioners on the following committees: County Commissioners Association Risk Pool and the Maine County Commissioner Association. Commissioner Gorden previously served on many national public boards and was President of the American Water Works Association 1999-2000, the world’s largest professional water organization with 57,000 members. From 1993 to 1998, he served as the Chairman of the Water Utility Council and was responsible for national water legislation, bringing forth the one trillion dollar infrastructure issue to Carroll Browner, the then Administrator of USEPA.
Commissioner Gorden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering plus certificates in management from the University of Maine and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business.
